Do you want to be a doctor because you truly see that as the career that fits your personality, strengths and interests best? Or do you want to be a doctor because you decided you wanted to be a doctor when you were just a little kid (for a good reason) and then you never really thought about anything else? You likely decided you wanted to be a doctor before you could even recognize your own strengths. But the truth is that you decided on that path before you were exposed to all the options that are out there for you and before you could even understand the multitude of career paths you could take. When you decide on a career path in childhood, and you grasp on to that desire for years and years, it is easy to grow up thinking that is the correct path for your life. It is completely normal and understandable to get to college, start taking classes and then after being exposed to new content realize that your skill set, interests, passions are pointing you in a direction that you didn't expect. Reading all of your posts here it seems that you may be realizing a passion and strength for political science.

You've made it to Purdue and you've succeeded in other classes you have the potential in you. I have absolutely no doubt that you could replace those F's but you need to decide if that is truly what is best for you. Hope you all have a great semester, and I wish you nothing but the best! As for the second part of the title, I feel like I don't deserve to be here since I can't measure up to our standards for stem, even if I know the poli sci department actively wants to scoop me up.

But giving up on medicine just kills me inside, even if failing continuously is doing the same. A professor in the poli sci department has offered me a great opportunity for my future, and im already a poli minor. I just wana know if anyone thinks i have a chance in hell (if so, suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated), or if i should just give up. I've gone to office hours, the math room, gotten a tutor, tried chenflix, study groups, etc. I've been doing fine in everything else, but I've been told to give up because of calc. I talked to an advisor in the bio department and was straight up told they dont want me. Im currently still in exploratory, but I've wanted nothing more than to go to med school. So, like the title says, I failed calc 1 three times.
